Play For Our Playground
Play for our Playground is our annual fundraising event to support the renovation of the Ross Elementary playground! Its a fun, family-friendly event where the community comes together to PLAY to help fund our school’s playground! Stay tuned for information about our 2025 event details!
We successfully finished phase 1 of our new playground last fall! The PTO was able to purchase a large, accessible piece of equipment for $60k. That included a $20k allocation from the school district.
The playground committee has planned additional phases, but haven’t picked out specific equipment.
The estimate for the next phase is expected to also be around $60k, but that will include two smaller pieces for the playground and accessible stations around the basketball court (drums, sensory wheels, tic-tac-toe, etc.).
Finally, the third phase will include adding equipment closer to the football field (think ninja warrior obstacles or outside exercise equipment), that would cost an estimated $40k.
It is a HUGE undertaking and the PTO even with the allocated funds from the school district. The goal is to fund this project as soon as possible, but that can only happen if this becomes a community project.
The Ross Elementary Playground is not only used by students and the surrounding neighborhoods, it is actually a true community playground. This playground sees so much use during various sports practices and games, which use the football field, baseball field, track, and gymnasium that are all parts of the Ross campus. This means families from other school districts often visit our playground. The space should be an enjoyable, safe place and a source of pride for the Ross community. This can only happen with your help!
